Dridhabala was a great ayurvedic physician from Kashmir who contributed immensely to the growth of Ayurveda system of medicine He was credited with having reconstructed and re-edited the Charaka Samhita, the great treatise on Ayurveda
It was also believed that Dridhabala, by re- editing the Charaka Samhita helped preserve this great treatise which other wise would have been lost. He added 17 chapters in therapeutics (Chikitsa Sthana) and also further included 2 sections on pharmaceutics (kalpasthana). His work also touched upon the topic of the methods to be employed to achieve success in treating various ailments. |
